What will we do? Sing, dance, act. Each camp week will have a unique theme and performance. Special additional instruction MAY include some of the following and will vary by week and theme: acro and stunts, boomwhackers and other unique instruments, sign language, juggling, etc.
Is this like the Vessels of G.O.L.D performances I've seen? As much as possible, we are attempting to give the camp performer a sampling of the type of work done in Vessels of G.O.L.D. For highlights of the group, please visit the site.
What will a typical day be like? The first morning will include fun auditions and non-threatening exercises so that we can have an idea of a starting point. Break out groups will take turns learning songs, choreography/dance and lines for our Friday presentation. Whole group sessions will allow everyone opportunity to work on stage at least twice per day. Afternoon sessions will include background and backstage work, photography and bios for programs, music reading, costume and prop design and construction, set construction and stage management.
Who are the instructors? All instructors are staff or otherwise associated with Vessels of G.O.L.D. and are qualified and experienced in their area of instruction. Please visit our staff and volunteer pages for our growing list of instructors.
What about lunch? In order to be efficient with our rehearsal time and to make sure each has a good, healthy, enjoyable lunch, we ask that each participant bring their own "bag lunch." We strongly discourage plans to use the microwave in the interest of time limits. Bottled water, other drinks and healthy snacks are available at a modest cost for cash or pre-pay. These will also be available before and after regular camp hours.
What about private lessons? Private piano and voice are available 8:00-9:00 AM and 4:00-6:00 PM Monday-Thursday for an additional cost. Please indicate interest on the Registration Form and you will be contacted for personal arrangements.
